The Index: White Summer Dresses
Four easy, comfortable and classic white maxi dresses that I own and love.
Lately, I've been leaning into wearing easy and comfortable white maxi dresses. They just feel like such a great outfit for warm summer days.
Ever since my friend shared her love for a great white dress in her Tried & True interview, I have found myself shopping for and gravitating toward any and all white dresses. In these past few months, I have found a great range of elegant and chic white dresses and I wanted to share those favorites with you all!
Mirabel Dress from Rue Sophie
Price: $188
Sizing: XS - XL, I find it to be true to size.
I took my true size, XL and it fits very well!
The top bodice section of the dress is made of a stretchier / jersey-like material, which I think allows for nice flexible sizing.
The dress has a side zipper.
Other notes:
You might be able to wear a traditional bra with this but I opted for a strapless bra.
This dress was my first time ever buying something from Rue Sophie but I don’t expect it to be my last. I am very impressed with the quality of the dress and the reasonable price (why does it seem so hard to find a good dress for less than $400 these days?!) I love the chic, elegant look of many other Rue Sophie pieces. I have this trench coat from them on my wishlist.
The Cinched Dress in White from Frame *
Price: currently on sale! $348 vs. $498
use code NAN15 at checkout for a extra discount!!
Sizing: XXS - XXL. I find it to be true to size.
I took my true size, XL. (I tried on the large and it fit but was a touch too tight around my boobs / the sleeves felt too short.)
Other Notes:
The dress is lined (love that!) with adjustable ties at the waist (there is no zipper, you simply pop the dress over your head.)
The v-neck cut a bit low on me, so I simply added a safety pin to keep the style more modest.

Modern Zig Zag Broderie Maxi Dress from ME & EM *
Price: $425
Sizing: 2 - 14. If between sizes, I would size down.
I am typically either a US 14 or US 16 in dresses, I ordered a 14 in this and its a touch big…if I were to re-order I would maybe have sized down.
Other notes:
The dress is lined to your knees, has pockets and a back zipper. I find the pockets to be a bit visible, I might have my tailor sew them up. While I love the practicality of a pocket, I don’t like seeing it on a dress…
This is one of my very first pieces from ME & EM and it has impressed me / I certainly will be paying attention to the brand going forward!
Nisha Dress from Asceno
Price: $510
Sizing: XS - XL.
I think true to size or perhaps a bit big. I took my true size XL and the dress is perfectly loose and flowy on me.
Other notes:
I was not familiar with Asceno until Elyse put the brand on my radar. I purchased the dress via MyTheresa but it seems to now be sold out at MyTheresa but still available directly from Asceno.
When I am trying a brand for the first time, I often try to shop from a bigger retailer like MyTheresa, as I like to shop somewhere that I already have an account and I often find the return process with a big retailer easier than with a small brand.
There is no zipper or anything; you simply throw the A-line dress over your head.
The linen dress is not lined which is fine by me - I can always wear it with my simple nude slip or wear it over a swimsuit as a coverup.
The dress does have pockets, but again the pockets are visible through the dress which I do not like, so I had my tailor sew up and remove the pockets.
There you have it, four white dresses that I plan to wear repeatedly this summer!
I actually also own and love this white maxi dress* (available in more inclusive sizing from XXXS - XXXXL) but my white colorway is sold out… But I can vouch for it and say it is extremely comfortable and easy to wear (see me style it here.) So maybe one of the other colorways in the same style might catch your eye?! I find this dress to be true to size, I wear my usual XL.
Another beautiful white dress I spotted online recently is this v-neck eyelet midi dress (and is on sale, extra 20% off the sale price with code: FIREWORKS2025 .)
If you are more of a skirt gal — the best white maxi skirt I have found is this skirt via Shopbop (currently sold out, im afraid…) Prior to finding that skirt, I tried similar options from Aligne* and Suzie Kondi but I returned both due to fit / preference issues. The Aligne skirt runs big, is unlined, and has visible pockets… And then the Suzie Kondi skirt while it was very comfortable with an elastic waist, did not hit me at the right spot on my legs..I do also own and love this more feminine and sheer white skirt* - it is true to size and unlined.
In terms of white pants…those can be tricky… I can say that I love these white linen pants (I sized up one size to size 1x.) And then for white jeans, this looser style is my current favorite but I also own this style as well.

* = items that have kindly been gifted to me from brands. However, this post is not sponsored and all my thoughts and opinions are totally candid and honest.
Love them all!
I just got my first FRAME dress at the 260 sample sale when I was in New York City and I am addicted and I love the white dress here!! Definitely won’t be my last purchase by the brand.
