A Few Things // Volume 03
What I bought, returned, and added to my wishlist in the past week. Plus, a few podcast episodes I would recommend and a reading update.
ON MY WISHLIST:
I am adding this purple linen caftan (on sale!) to my wishlist after seeing Courtenay, the lovely (and very chic) founder of the adorable children’s brand two x two, wearing it in ivory over the weekend during the Fenimore Lane event.
While I was on the Tory Burch site, I also spotted this black eyelet dress.
This dress has a similar cut to the brown-and-white dress I wore over the weekend, which I found really flattering (if I do say so, myself…!)
Another item I spotted this weekend and quickly added to my wishlist is this silver shell necklace. It feels great for summer and is different than anything else I own.
My friend Emily is sort of the queen of the Rue de Vernuil totes (in my mind!) She has a few, and they just always look so great anytime she uses them. She has influenced me to add their Medium Size tote in navy to my wishlist (I already own this larger style.)
See more of my wishlist here. I am always adding to it, removing things, refining it…! You know me - always shopping or thinking about shopping!
BUYING:
I am on the hunt for a few great golf/tennis skirts that are on the longer side. For my 5’11 height, I have found that the skirt length that works best for me is at least 16 inches long (if not 17 inches long)
I ordered this option and this option, both in my usual XL, from Lululemon (we will see if either works - I will report back!)
I have had this beautiful gold-and-diamond ring on my wishlist for what feels like months and finally bought it yesterday.
When I heard Yearly Co. was having a SALE to celebrate 10 years in business, I took that as my sign to buy the ring!
Shop today (Tuesday, June 9th) to get 10% off your Yearly Co order (discount shown once an item is in your cart.)
I am such a fan of Yearly Co - the founder Ann Williams is so lovely, as is her whole team, and they just seem like such a thoughtful small business / the type of business you want to support. I wear this bangle from Yearly Co in my daily bracelet stack.
RETURNING:
Why are shorts so tricky?! I was kindly gifted this adorable pair of green gingham shorts that look oh-so-cute, but they just felt a touch too short or tight on me… sadly! However, if you have a different body than mine, they could be a perfect summer short.
On the other hand, this navy gauze pair and this striped terry pair are both keepers for me! (I have them in my true size XL.) **gifted
I am also really happy with my Donni linen shorts; they seem to be sold out, but I will let you all know if I see them restocked. (true to size/XL)
I am also returning this J.Crew skirt (simply because I ordered it in two sizes). I am returning the larger size, 16, and keeping the smaller size, 14.
READING:
I have been reading Famesick, but it’s moving a little slow for me…I think maybe because I did not really watch Girls? Maybe I need to skip through the section about Girls?
I put Famesick aside on Sunday night, and I started reading Ann Patchett’s new novel, Whistler. I am still just at the beginning/at chapter 2, but so far I am enjoying it and look forward to diving further in.
LISTENING:
Two of my favorite political influencers, or more so just two women I love following in general, Emily Amick and Kate Duffy, launched a podcast: Actually, with Emily and Kate.
I have listened to their first two episodes and can tell it will become part of my regular podcast rotation. It more or less seems to be them just gabbing and catching up about anything and everything on their minds - from politics to culture and more. These types of casual conversations are always my favorite - I love when you can feel like a fly on the wall or like you are eavesdropping.
This week I also listened to my friend Jennifer Cook be interviewed on Ellie - A Day In Her Life’s podcast — listen here.
I have always been intrigued by Jennifer’s busy life (she is a mom to a toddler, has a day job as a buyer at a chic clothing store, writes a Substack, teaches yoga, and just you know, lives life!) I enjoyed hearing more details of how Jennifer makes it all work.
Lindsey Paley, the founder of Lenny (a resource for vintage jeans), was interviewed on the Let’s Get Dressed podcast with Liv Perez.
I think we can all agree that finding a great pair of vintage Levi's can be tricky, and I feel like this episode included a lot of helpful tips anyone can use when searching for jeans.
While we are talking about podcasts, I can’t help but plug my own podcast, Noteworthy With Nan.
I hope you might give it a listen if you haven’t already, and if you are enjoying it, maybe you can leave us a 5-star rating or write a review?!

Ahhh! Thank you for sharing, and thank you for connecting us, Nan!!!! Loved chatting with Jennifer!
lol post twins!
